Sustainable Aviation Futures partnered with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority to launch Global Sustainable Aviation Markets (GSAM), a first of its kind global forum.
GSAM has been created by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority with ICAO’s and Sustainable Aviation Futures’ support as a global showcase event to scale aviation decarbonisation and SAF production worldwide. Sustainable Aviation Futures is the exclusive GSAM partner to drive the content, program, branding and thought leadership opportunities in one of the most exclusive, government led aviation decarbonisation events to date.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA)
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was formed to regulate Civil Aviation and provide designated aviation services with observance to the safety and security to strengthen the aviation industry within the UAE and its upper space. The Authority has made considerable progress on many new projects and innovations, with excellent results; such as modernisation of the air traffic control center program, radar equipment, and establishing of new facilities to serve the growth of the civil aviation within the UAE.
The Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace (GSAM)
The Global Sustainable Aviation Marketplace (GSAM) is a GCAA initiative, supported by ICAO, aimed at fostering vital partnerships between the global private and government sectors to drive decarbonisation in the aviation industry. Held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi from February 10 to 12, 2025, GSAM will convene key stakeholders and ministers from the Energy, Transportation and Aviation sector to define the future of sustainable aviation. The event will also feature the Sustainable Aviation Futures MENA Congress, and run concurrently with ICAO’s Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS), creating a key platform for global collaboration on aviation sustainability.
Sustainable Aviation Futures MENA Congress (SAF MENA)
Sustainable Aviation Futures MENA Congress 2025 (SAF MENA) provides a unique opportunity for industry leaders to meet with global government, by providing high-level, strategic insights on the A-Z of aviation decarbonisation, from Airline operations and sustainability strategies, to net-Zero airports and infrastructure. The entire aviation and energy value chains will have the chance to share their expertise while connecting with policymakers to collaborate on solutions that will shape the future of the aviation sector.
Co-located Global Implementation Support Symposium
The Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) is a prominent summit aiming to unify efforts towards implementing ICAO's global plans for enhancing safety, security, and sustainability in aviation through intensive discussions, workshops, and meetings. In 2025 it will be co-located with the UAE's Global Sustainable Aviation Markets (GSAM) initiative and the SAF MENA Congress.
